Some of My Favorite Apps
Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 2:01AM If your new to the world of Mac or you're like me and wonder what apps people us, I figured I would put together some of my favorites.
Caffeine - A must have if you do a lot of presentations. "Caffeine is a tiny program that puts an icon in the right side of your menu bar. Click it to prevent your Mac from automatically going to sleep, dimming the screen or starting screen savers. Click it again to go back"
iStat Pro - "iStat Pro is a highly configurable widget that lets you monitor every aspect of your Mac, including CPU, memory, disks, network, battery, temperatures, fans, load & uptime and processes."
Evernote - "Evernote makes it easy to remember things big and small from your notable life using your computer, phone, and the web"
1password -Best password manager app I've ever used, highly recommend.
Fusion - I use this app everyday to run my VMs on my Mac along with my customer demos.
Skype -Do I need to explain this one?
TweetDeck - My current Twitter client
MailSteward - Damn good email archive app that's come in handy a few times.
Path Finder - When Finder just doesn't cut it.

A few updates to this list...
No longer using TweekDeck. I've switched to the best SaaS Twitter client out there, HootSuite.
Skitch is a free image capture, editing, etc. tool I use on a daily basis.
Moom helps with resizing windows the way you want them to resize.
iStat Menus is what Activity Monitor should be, but isn't.
GrandPerspective is a great utility that shows you what's consuming your storage capacity in a clean interface.
Last but not least, for those of us that want to control which apps have access to your network, check out Little Snitch.
